A community for your next step

You do not have to face this alone.

You do not have to navigate drug addiction alone. RU at Florence Baptist Temple offers a free Christian recovery community for people struggling with drug use and for the families who care about them.

Support for substance use and prescription drug misuse

People come to RU with different experiences of substance use. Some are seeking help for the first time; others want a community to support an ongoing recovery. The program welcomes people struggling with opioids, fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, or prescription drug misuse.

You do not have to decide which category fits you before contacting the team. If more than one substance is involved, you can still ask about meetings, mentoring, and biblical counseling. RU provides spiritual and community support; medical assessment and treatment belong with qualified healthcare professionals.

Build support into your week

Friday’s program brings people together for prayer, small groups, and practical Bible teaching. You can hear others share their experiences, ask questions, and meet a personal mentor. There is no pressure to speak during your first visit.

Between meetings, RU’s Bible-based curriculum offers journaling, study, and weekly challenges. A mentor provides a person to turn to for encouragement and accountability as you work through the material. Sunday’s class gives you another opportunity to connect with the program.

Clinical treatment and community support

If you are searching for drug rehab, detox, or medication treatment in Florence, start with a clinical provider who can assess the care you need. RU does not provide those services. Its meetings, biblical counseling, and mentoring offer community support that can accompany professional care.

For questions about the RU program itself, contact Corbett Stone. You can also ask about joining meetings as you continue recovery after treatment.

Visit with someone who supports you

RU meets at Florence Baptist Temple, 2308 South Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505, on Fridays at 7:00 PM and Sundays at 9:15 AM. There is no cost, no insurance requirement, and no advance signup. Friday doors open at 6:45 PM near the entrance closest to Jordan’s Furniture Store.

Bring a friend or family member if that makes the first step easier. Family members can also contact the team on their own. Nursery care and age-appropriate programs for children and teens are available at no cost while adults attend.

A little clarity before you come

Questions about getting started

Is this a Narcotics Anonymous meeting?

No. RU is a separate Christian recovery program called Reformers Unanimous. Meetings use Bible teaching, small groups, mentoring, and the RU curriculum.

Does RU prescribe medication for opioid addiction?

RU does not prescribe or manage medication. Talk with a qualified healthcare professional about treatment.

Can I ask for help for a family member?

Yes. You can contact the RU team to learn about meetings and biblical counseling for family members. Your loved one does not need to be ready to attend before you ask for support.
